Glen D. Bachman, Partner

Glen received his bachelor's degree in History from Duke University in 1991. He earned his JD in 1994 at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri before returning to Durham to open his own practice. Since that time he has participated in several high profile cases including the Lowes Motor Speedway bridge collapse case and the Duke Lacrosse team defense. He is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (formerly the Academy of Trial Lawyers) and practices in the areas of personal injury, criminal defense and civil litigation. Over his fifteen years of practice, he has helped clients secure substantial jury verdicts and insurance company settlements. A highly regarded trial attorney, Glen is married and has one daughter.

David A. Swanson, Partner

David attended Georgetown University School of Business in Washington, DC before transferring to Columbia College in Chicago where he received his bachelor's degree in English Literature and Writing in 1985. After graduating, David worked for the management consulting firm of Booz-Allen & Hamilton in Chicago. In 1991, he obtained a bachelor's degree in Theology from Ambassador College in Pasadena, California.  David earned his JD in 1995 from Duke University School of Law.  After working briefly for a sole practitioner, he opened a solo practice in Durham. In 1997, he joined Glen, formed the Traffic Law Center and later, Bachman & Swanson, PLLC.  David serves as the firm's managing partner, practicing in the areas of civil litigation and real estate law. David is married and has one son.

Lauri Klein, Principal

Lauri is a graduate of Union College, in Schenectady, New York, graduating cum laude with a degree in political science and history. In 1992, she received her law degree with honors from Western New England College School of Law. Lauri is a former Assistant District Attorney in Orange County, North Carolina. She has extensive experience in traffic law, criminal defense as well as personal injury and civil litigation. She is a highly accomplished negotiator and maintains law licenses in North Carolina, New York and New Jersey. Lauri joined the firm in 2005. She is married and has three sons.

Tonja Mettlach, Associate

Tonja is a graduate of Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts where she received her bachelor's degree in American Government and a master's degree in Communication.  She received her law degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 2010.  While at Hofstra, Tonja was the managing editor of the Hofstra Labor & Employment Law Journal.   She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association where she serves on the Young Lawyers Division Pro Bono and Poverty Issues Committee.  She practices in the areas of personal injury, criminal defense and civil litigation. Tonja joined the firm in 2010.  She is married and recently welcomed her first son.
